The Securities, Commodities and Derivatives Exchange (SECDEX) is a market infrastructure ecosystem located in the Seychelles. It is a multi-asset hybrid exchange platform which has a prime focus on trading securities, debt, spot commodities and derivatives contracts in both traditional and digital tokenised form.
SECDEX has a lot of potential as a security exchange platform since it is one of the few exchanges in the African region, which is a fully regulated entity that delivers a seamless trading, clearing and settlement process in a digital tokenised space. As the digital financial markets are booming, SECDEX positions itself as a harbinger to tackle mostly financing challenges faced by most SMEs in Africa, ease debt structuring on balance sheets and make illiquid assets more tradable in an efficient fashion through its tokenisation process.
