Safe Girl Initiative Uganda is a project that envisions a world where menstrual products are affordable and accessible to all rural women and girls. So no woman or girl should be forced to use unhealthy and filthy materials to manage their period, making them jeopardize their health or miss school or work because of it. Besides providing a product that fits this criteria, we conduct menstrual awareness campaigns in both schools and communities by providing accurate information about menstruation, menstrual hygiene reproductive health and sanitation combined with large trainings on how to make reusable menstrual pads. We do not want any woman or girl to ever feel ashamed, oppressed or isolated because of menstruation or because they lack information to deal with it appropriately before their start.
