Rethread Africa The sustainable materials start-up

At Rethread Africa, we upcycle agricultural waste such as sugarcane bagasse into a 100% bio-based material. Our product is durable, versatile, looks and performs as good (if not better) than plastic-based synthetics but completely decomposes at its end of life. With potential use cases in different industries such as food packaging, healthcare, automotive, and fashion, our material serves to be an eco-friendly alternative to plastic-based synthetics, with its production and usage contributing to SDG 11, 12 & 13. We have proven the technology, conducted market research and are focusing on the fashion industry which attracts a 61% gross profit margin from the sale of or material. We operate on a B2B Business model, supplying material to fashion brands through their manufacturing partners. We have a couple of both global and local brands in our clientele and are currently fundraising to set up a facility to service orders. We are open to collaborations, partnerships and conversations
