No small grain breakfast cereals are manufactured from locally available small grain varieties is on the market. The general population which is aware of the relationship between health and small grain has increased over the years and thus consumers are using grain meal e.g. pearlenta high fibre and multi grain meal to make porridge. Fast food outlets are now found serving traditional foods in their canteens. Currently most cereals are imported and that is are very expensive. Encouragement to farm small grains will drive the need to develop an affordable breakfast cereal that can be produced locally.
