MOMA Renewable Energy

We turn food waste into clean, affordable cooking fuel for households. In Kenya, over 80% of households rely on polluting fuels like charcoal, firewood, and kerosene, which harm health, the environment, and household finances. Our bioethanol fuel is produced locally from segregated food waste and burns cleanly, reducing indoor air pollution and cutting CO₂ emissions by up to 73% compared to kerosene. We’ve served over 4,500 customers, created dignified jobs for women in rural communities, and processed more than 1,800 tons of waste. As demand grows for sustainable alternatives, we are scaling to meet the needs of millions of households seeking cleaner, safer cooking solutions.
