Mogom’mera Seed Company Seed Production

The company was registered on 21st January 2014 as Mgom’mera Seed Company under the Malawi Government Business Names Registration Act, (CAP. 46:02) Index No. 168304. It is also registered under the Seed Traders of Malawi (STAM). The Managing Director, Dr. Grace Malindi is a former Director of Agriculture Extension Services in Malawi, and holds a Ph.D. and MSc in Agriculture Extension, community and Human Resource Development, and is highly experienced in seed production and marketing. In its operations, Mgom’mera Seed Investments mainly focuses on effective local solutions to end hunger and malnutrition through production of drought tolerant and nutrient dense seed varieties, with ‘cowpeas’ as “the flag career seed crop” because of both its profitability as well as its rich iron, copper and high protein content. Other prioritized legume crops comprise; Soya (tikolore variety) which is rich in its oil and protein content; and Beta carotene orange fleshed sweet potato.
