ProTeen was founded in 2018 by Tommie Hooft (Dutch) with a background in Food & Agribusiness and entrepreneurship, and Philipp Straub (German) with a bachelor in Animal Nutrition and a Masters in Biosystems Engineering from Wageningen University. Philipp’s bachelor focused on commercial insect production. Tommie is the founder of Marula Creative Consultancy in Uganda, this company makes impact documentaries and implements impact projects; the company raised over 600k euros in funding and is successfully running generating over 50k euro revenue per year. We are proud to say we are a youth led organization that focuses on skilling and employing young people. We currently employ 34 young Ugandans, the majority are younger than 25 years old. Our Operations Manager Joseph Luswabi has a degree in Agriculture and has worked with Proteen for the past two years.
