MALISHO BORA KWA AFIA Working towards a healthier a sustainable community

Impact

When Malisho bora started in 2015, the first impact was to make the community aware of how important greens and fruits was for their children. Since our vision is to have a healthier and sustainable community, that was our very first impact in the Kyangwali settlement community in Uganda.In 2016, we saw that meeting and talking to the community members about greens was not enough, Horticultural crops are known as source of carbohydrates, proteins, organic acids, vitamins and minerals for human nutrition. We grow eggplant, cabbage, green papers, carrot and other vegetables. So, we decided to start doing seedlings of those greens and we started distributing ten stands par family which had a child who was malnourished. Because we believed that with those ten stands of seeds when they produce they would be able to share with their neighbor so that every child who was not having a good health would be well-nourished and that how we started getting the result we wanted.
