The Push Plow is a product that came about because of necessity. The hoe is an energy and time consuming tool, that needs to be replaced with a low cost human powered tool. We have currently built two prototypes that we are testing and modifying until we get the concept right.
The market potential of having a low cost human powered tilling tool is huge among smallholder farmers and market gardeners.This tool will change the work ethic of the farmer by helping them cut on time spent in the field and give more nutrition to the soil by implementing low tillage.
The normal farming ratio in the western world is 80:20 which is 80% spent on post production, marketing and sales and 20% spent in the field. The average smallholder farmer in Africa spends 70:30 which is 70% in the field and 30% post production, marketing and sales, this can change by simply having the correct tool.
We believe the Push Plow can achieve that by reducing the ratio to 60:40. 40% being the time spent in the
