Lucy Enset Based Food LLC Production and commercialization of high quality enset based foods

Enset plant a staple food for over 20 million Ethiopians. The fermented enset (kocho) is baked and eaten in the form of bread. In Ethiopia there is huge enset reserve present in three regions but there is high unmet demand for enset-based food products due to poor quality production from traditional methods. Lucy enset based foods company established to produce and commercialize high quality and nutritious enset based flours to East African market. The company is the pioneer to produce affordable and multi purpose kocho and bulla flours. The new food product is nutritious and affordable as compared with other locally consumed staple food. This will directly benefit low-income people in the region. It also helps to avoid stunting and malnutrition in non-enset growing regions. The company planned to commercialize the under utilized crop in the form of flour. The company uses innovative technologies to produce the products and it’s based in Arba Minch, Ethiopia.
