Plantains is a good source of calorie and also rich in micronutrient including minerals and vitamins. Due to its high nutritional potentials, Lionking Biotech wants to startup plantain flour production, packaging and marketing.
Southern Nigeria produces plantain in large quantity by local farmers. Among these, greater percentage is sold or consumed by the farmers while the many wastes in few months if not sold out or consumed as there is no post harvest preservation available to local farmers to prolong the shelf-life of the product.
There is high volume of market at our disposal as many would readily prefer to buy plantain flour both in the place of semovita or for bakery and bakery related purposes. Hence we have broad range of customers and being an innovative idea with no competing product of such nature already available, everyone would love to have the new product, given its high nutritional content and palatable nature.
