Lakers Development Foundation is developing “omoka na kuku” ,a youth economic empowerment program meaning ” meaning Get rich by rearing chicken in sheng dialect which most youths in Kenya identify themselves with. The program addresses the challenges that come with unemployment as many youths are now unemployed and at home due to COVID 19 pandemic impacts that has forced many youths to resort to antisocial behaviors like house lifting, stealing,robbing, prostitution. Others due to depression have turned into drug addicts. The program targets 1000 youths to be trained and capacity build in poultry keeping.
We are currently at the idea stage and looking for persons and organizations of Goodwill to partner/collaborate or support us in this course.
