As IsMar Mushrooms, we intend to produce and sell quality oyster mushrooms. The focus on oyster mushrooms is because according to National Farmers Information Service; oyster mushrooms are easy to grow, have higher yields and have more nutritional value than the button mushrooms. IsMar Mushrooms will supply both fresh and dried oyster mushrooms. After a year of successful operation, we intend to open various mushroom soup joints and popularize the delicacy across the country. According to National Farmers Information Service survey, Kenya in general produces approximately 500 tons of mushrooms annually while the demand is 1,200 tons. This creates a market niche that we intend to occupy. Most mushroom farmers in Kenya focus on producing and selling button mushrooms but oyster mushrooms have higher yields and are more nutritious.
