An estimated $4 billion worth of grains is thrown away every year in Africa due to massive post-harvest losses. This is caused mainly by the fact that smallholder farmers in Africa do not know how to store their harvest for a long period or use inadequate techniques. The other cause is that rural area farmers do not access markets to sell their products which they end up throwing away when it goes bad.
H-Solutions developed a mobile Application that enables them to monitor their farms, learn how to implement long term harvest storage facilities or access them if available, to access to online agricultural markets, to buy fertilizers online, to access solar-powered water pumping services and purchase soil testing kit.
