Our solution is pragmatically aimed at drastically reducing the number of children under the age of five(5) who die as a result of pneumonia. According to WHO, the disease is one of the leading causes of death among children in the developing world. As a result, it begs stakeholders’ attention to develop an effective and efficient solution to combat the disease. The most effective way to combat the disease has been identified as early detection. However, with one-third of the world’s population lacking access to radiologists, the problem persists, particularly in developing countries. Indeed, Nigeria has been the epicentre of paediatric pneumonia for decades. It reports nearly 200,000 deaths per year on average.

Horizon Lab developed Paedio.ai, a web-based, on-premise application, to assist in solving the problem. The application was developed with the assistance of healthcare domain experts. As a result, it seamlessly integrates with radiologists’ workflow.
