HalalSom is a complete halal meat value chain in a Muslim country (Somaliland) that produces and markets certified, chilled and frozen meat products while increasing the quality of life of nomadic herdsmen and plant workers in one of the poorest countries in the world.
The complete project consists of solid relationships with pastoral herds people, abattoir (slaughterhouse), packing plant and cold storage and cargo center at Egal Airport. All the necessary power will be generated by wind and solar.
Somaliland has a long, profitable history of exporting live livestock to the gulf states. Slaughtering and processing the livestock in-country increases profits and expands the market to European and Asian countries.
