H2Grow Innovations Uganda is an Irrigation-as-a-Service business providing affordable, portable and mobile irrigation technologies to smallholder farmers whose crop production has been affected by unreliable rainfall patterns and high irrigation equipment costs. Farmers in Kasese hire complete systems at UGX 20,000 per day and operate them after training, while farmers in the Elgon region access motorcycle-powered irrigation services at UGX 13,000 per hour. We currently operate 10 fully utilized systems, but demand exceeds our capacity. Our services support the production of tomatoes, eggplants, maize, beans and groundnuts. We are seeking partnerships and investment to scale operations and transition from petrol-powered pumps to portable solar-powered irrigation systems, reducing costs and promoting climate-smart agriculture. By this transition we shall raise more revenue by over 50% as most costs associated to fuel will be eliminated and also minimize carbon emission.
