Genexe Engineering Combating Indoor Air Pollution, Saving Lives
Genexe Engineering is a Social Enterprise that combats Indoor Air Pollution by manufacturing Energy Efficient Cookstoves targeting low end domestic and Institutional Clients. Rampant Energy Poverty in Sub-Saharan has 81% of the population entirely dependent on Firewood for Cooking and Heating resulting in approximately 600,000 annual death attributable to indoor air pollution. Sadly, the deaths are mostly mostly of women and children.
Our Stoves reduce indoor air pollution by cutting down on smoke emission by 80 – 90% while bring down firewood consumption by 70%, and reduce cooking time by 50%. Households using our Stoves get upto 15% increase in disposable income for the family, money which can then be chanelled to other areas of pressing need.
The presence of Clients in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and South Sudan is a pointer to our determination to take this Technology to Sub-Saharan Africa and a pointer to the scalability potential of the Enterprise.
