The device is used during ultrasound scanning at week 28 birth. During this procedure, the doctor uses the LI40 to generate the cocleopalpebral reflex which in case of existence is an evidence of an adequate neurological development of the neonate, however the non-existence of this reflection prevents us from a future deafness in the child that is to be born allowing us to treat it properly.
