eProd offers an ERP for agricultural value chains. It is flexible and versatile and can be used by a small cooperative as well as by large agribusinesses. Revenues are generated through an annual license fee and training given to users. The software was developed by a Kenyan chilli exporter facing the complexity of managing thousands of smallholder farmers. Initially developed for own use, the company received requests to expand its functionality to meet the needs of other value chains. Since February 2015 it has been commercially available and has grown to address 18 different value chains in five different countries. Clients recognize the relevance of the system for their own use, its flexibility and user-friendliness.
