Emfed Farms and Trading Company Ltd Labor Service delivery for smallholder cocoa farmers

Emfed Farms is a limited Liability company that Provides full farm management service to smallholder cocoa farmers who cannot pay upfront the cost of labor for sustainable gains, our target groups are the old, sick, absentee and widow farmers. We sign a contract with the farmer and take over the management activities. We do the weeding, spraying, pruning, and harvesting to increase yield and share the beans with the farmer. Emfed has engaged youth and women in the cocoa growing areas and have trained them in good agronomics practices who undertake the operations. Cocoa is responsive crops and management operations need to be on time, but the smallholder cocoa farmers are unable to meet the management needs in time(normally during off season) so Emfed pre-finance these activities which may include the cost of fertilizer, chemicals, and labor, and record all in the farmers’ record book. Emfed operates two agro-input shops which sell only approved ago-chemical from Cocoa Bod.
