Eco-Agro Enterprise PTY LTD is an agricultural company made of three (3) agricultural youth varsity graduates as executive members. The company has developed an innovative technology to produce mushrooms at a lower cost and named it “African Hut Mushroom Dome”. This technology is a structure that provides microclimate and enables the production of mushrooms at a lower cost. This structure allows the production of mushrooms even in harsh climatic conditions without using any energy and water. The technology capacitates and equips farmers with alternative non-land dependent food production technology that enables them to produce high protein mushrooms for both their own use and for income generation. The success of this low-technology for the production of mushrooms also has the potential of addressing malnutrition, food insecurity. This initiative would equip smallholder farmers with technology that enables them to utilize crop residue and various agricultural wastes.
