Craftastics Zimbabwe is a registered handicrafts business centred on fabric waste management. Tailors in Kuwadzana where l stay, were struggling to safely dispose their waste. They threw away their offcuts wherever there is space on roads and illegal dumping sites. When the waste accumulates to large amounts they resort to burning as a way of getting rid of their waste. With the local women in Zimbabwe thriving in this economy, they sometimes use old t-shirts as rugs and mats. Thats when we decided to close the gap to reduce land and airpollution by reducing fabric waste, reusing and recyling it into ecofriendly, stylish and high grade artifacts made from fabric waste as a raw material readily and locally available in abundant sourced from local tailors whilst promoting local talent from our skilled craftman and creating employement to school leavers, school drop outs, teen mothers, young women and youths in my community.
