Coconoto Enterprise Turning Coconut Waste into Wealth for Africa

Cover image of Coconoto Enterprise, Agritech venture on VC4A

Coconoto builds affordable, proprietary machines that de-husk and de-shell coconuts 10× faster than manual labor use of cutlasses and spikes, then turns the waste of husk into high-margin coco-peat and fiber, with aim to also convert shells into clean briquette charcoal. With Nigeria’s over 250,000 metric tons of coconut consumption with about 60% waste and over 2 million smallholder farmers, we unlock a ₦220 billion market, boost farmer incomes by 30 %, and cut CO₂ emissions all with locally fabricated tech that’s 75 % cheaper than imports and digital marketplace that connects farmers and processors to a global market.
