Agricultural production and general food security in Nigeria is threatened by farmers’ lack of access to capital and resources, inadequate knowledge of best agronomic practices. Farmers also lack access to markets and there is widespread post harvest food loss caused by poor storage facilities. 37% of food produced in Africa is lost between production and consumption. This is estimated to be around $4b per year.
CashCow NG solves these problems by using technology to connect farmers to markets locally and internationally, provide farmers with finance for necessary inputs (animal feeds, seeds, fertilizers, vaccines etc), train farmers on best agronomic practices and equip them with tools required to increase productivity and lastly connect middle class Nigerians with alternative investment vehicles.
