All over Sanaag region markets are characterized by continuous shortage of vegetables. The commonly consumed vegetables include lettuce, carrot, onion, cabbage, tomato, coriander and potato. The current vegetable suppliers to Sanaag Markets are mainly local producers and importers with a market share of 10% and 90% respectively. However, above vegetables, high demand has been observed in vegtabe by the consumers. Despite of this huge demand, vegetable markets in most of Sanaag region have faced the following challenges: higher prices and low quality associated with long transport. Seasonal variability supply of vegetables to the market by the local farmers.
However, Bushra vegetable farm is a production farm which will established in SANAAG region Somaliland and whose mission is to: Be the best producer in sanaag and even Somaliland by providing fresh, high quality and low priced-nutritious vegetables compared to other suppliers by using drip irrigation through out the year.
