Over 80% of Ghanaian smallholder farmers do not have access to low cost agricultural technologies that would make them efficient or find them expensive. As a result, they continue to produce goods low in quality and quantity, and end up facing market challenges. Agtech startups on the other hand spend about 60% of their revenue on customer acquisition, thereby they lose focus on good product development, produce less to meet demand and struggle to scale up.

Bolstaar is a web and mobile platform that connects smallholder farmers to low cost farm technologies and agritech solutions. Through field visits and farmer campaigns, we find farmers’ technological needs, aggregate those technologies and help farmers either buy or rent the technologies cheaply using simple digital tools.

Our unique model allows manufacturers to have a great sales channel to reach over 1,000,000 farmers at a go; and for the farmers, a one stop digital tool to access numerous agricultural solutions.
