Awamo is a social enterprise that is reinventing the traditional franchise model to equip emerging market entrepreneurs to build solutions that close infrastructure gaps and propel local innovation in solving the water crisis. Being a franchise model; – our solution is the financing of a Business – In – a –Box. Awamo raises capital through investments, low interest debt and grants. Through the capital raised, Awamo then provides local entrepreneurs with; a retail space, on-site advanced water filtration systems, bottling, marketing materials, branding, and sealing to enable them start and own a business. Each Awamo franchisee draws water from existing sources near their storefront, then filter, bottle, seal and sell/distribute a total of over 1,500 litters of safe drinking water per day to customers within their neighborhood {2 Km Radius} of about 10,000 populations at a fraction of the price of commercially bottled water (and a fraction of the environmental cost of boiling water).
