Ashlahmonk Investment Pty is a company founded by a smart farmer Olebogeng Monkgelababo who uses modern farming technology to consistently grow fresh vegetables throughout the year and it’s based in Botswana, Maun village . We are using hydroponics: the practice of growing plants in nutrient cultures rather than soil.The word was driven from two Greek words HYDRO meaning water and PORNOS meaning Labor. The reason we choose hydroponics is To maximise production and to utilise the small space that we have since we don’t have a farm yet. We currently have a shade net structure that contains 1000 plants , and we produce tomatoes, peppers and lettuce which we supply to retail shops , butcheries and street vendors. We are currently facing a challenge of capacity, demand is higher than what we are producing, and another challenge is climate change, we have been experiencing very temperatures in summer and low temperatures in winter which lead to plant damage and loss.
