ASALs Biofeeds aggregates dairy goat milk from the ASALs of Laikipia, links farmers to the market, trains on goat management and value adds to come up with high-end goat products. The firm uses the Circular Economy model through utilization of ‘prosopis juliflora’ an invasive species that covers 80% of grazing land in the ASALS. Pyrolysis method is used to produce Biochar that makes organic fertilizer for soil restoration and for feed additives. The project utilizes rain water conservation technique to run the firm and targets to reduce malnutrition level for pastoralist women and children under five years.
