Adelante Mujer Empowering women in Bolivia who have suffered from domestic violence

Adelante Mujer is committed to inspiring women who have suffered from domestic violence to recover and to take ownership of their lives. We provide training to these women in many areas, including professional gastronomy skills, which give them the tools to:
a) guide our popular Traditional Bolivian Gastronomy classes for tourists
b) to be chefs or staff in our Adelante Mujer Catering Service
c) to cook for our Adelante Mujer Gourmet events.
Partaking in these activities gives the women a source of income and raises their self esteem.
This, paired with our safe house, the psycho-emotional, legal, job-skills and job-seeking support structure we offer them helps them to have the faith in themselves needed to seek a better life, in which they are no longer economically nor psychologically dependent on their abusive husbands.
We believe empowerment begins when we see and start to own the power we already hold inside. Adelante Mujer is designed to make this process possible.
