Since the founding of our company, ADC has became the leading tilapia fish breeding farm in the Lao PDR. Previously the market for fish fingerlings was dominated by imports, which were often low quality and higher cost to the local farmers. Laos has a tremendous potential for food production, yet most of the food is imported from elsewhere. Our goal is to reduce this import dependency and provide local farmers the opportunity to produce 100% domestically grown, healthy food.
Fish has always been an important part of the diet of Lao people, but with the diminishing natural fish stocks due to a number of factors (overfishing, hydropower projects, pollution, etc.) it is important to provide an alternative source of protein from fish. A steady supply of high quality fingerlings is the foundation of a thriving aquaculture sector. Currently this is not available in the rural areas of the country, especially in the difficult to access regions.
