The Engine for Startups
Africa is increasingly living up to it’s potential as a continent of opportunity and growth. Yet critical difficulties prevail, in particular, that of building economies that will create a significant number of jobs for the continent’s booming and young population, as well as growing a cadre of entrepreneurs who will turn our vast challenges into opportunity while accessing global markets.
Innovation in Africa, is central to it’s future prosperity. The biggest opportunities in the coming decade will be created by Africans who start businesses, create wealth, capture opportunities, and drive for growth in a sustainable and inclusive way.
While entrepreneurship is growing rapidly in Africa, entrepreneurs continue to face significant domestic challenges that impede their efforts, including a lack of access to funding, support services, targeted skills training and access to critical networks of other entrepreneurs and mentors.
Startup Ecosystems of Africa
SEA, (pronounced SE-YA), is a startup engine that catalyses the establishment and development of startups in Africa. Our main goal is to discover, enable and accelerate great startups which assists investors to uncover compelling opportunities, corporates to drive innovation in their sectors, and builds innovative solutions for large scale challenges globally.
SEA stands on 4 pillars of strength, which are:
Startup Events | Startup Enabler | Startup Investment | Startup Content.
We operate Startup Engines in multiple verticals and across multiple microcommunities in collaboration with governments, corporates, global development organisations and/or regional and global investment communities.
