A search for startups leading the future of Artificial Intelligence

Up to four innovative African startups get the opportunity to present their business plan at a gala event in South Africa, in May 2018.

Winning startups will receive:

  • Up to $1M available in investment funding
  • Plus marketing credits and prizes
Who should apply
 
Businesses offering a product, service or platform which utilises artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques as defined by relevant scientific research.
Only companies registered and resident on the African continent may apply for AI Revolution 2018.
Businesses who illustrate the following criteria will be considered:
  • You offer (or intend to) a product, service or platform that utilises AI techniques, as defined by relevant scientific research
  • A product or service demonstrating global commercial applications
  • Have had a min. investment of $25,000 in seed funding or sweat equity / loans
  • Availability to attend the finals event in South Africa in May 2018
Meet the panel
 
Our select panel of judges will be announced in the run-up to the final event. The Sagarmatha panel consists of professional investors and domain experts in Artificial Intelligence.
How to apply
 
Applying for AI Revolution 2018 is a two-step process.
The first step, fill in the entry form – share your details and an overview of your business, plus a presentation (PDF/PPT) deck that describes your product, team, market opportunity and financial projections. Next, complete your submission via the aiRevo app.
Shoot and upload a 5-minute video pitch, include any support material. Submissions are open until 31 March 2018.
 
Qualifying startups will be contacted by 2 May 2018. Finalists will be invited to present their innovation at a gala event in South Africa in May 2018.
