Request for Mentorship to create sustainable employment among young healthcare workers
Kenya has been faced with very high levels of unemployment in the healthcare sector which was once lucrative. This is due to the fact that the Kenyan government is not able to absorb Doctors, Pharmacists, Dentists and Nurses into the public sector. This has led to unemployment among fresh graduates and poor service delivery in the Kenyan healthcare sector.
Despite the fact that SMES are the catalyst to economic growth and employment in any country, healthcare workers are unable to start sustainable business ventures due to among other factors lack of funds, lack of managerial skill and lack of a platform from which they can tap expertise in the formative stages of their Ventures.
Salix Africa Limited proposes Jitegemee project which will be modelled in a business ecosystem to bring healthcare stakeholders together to assist young healthcare workers in starting and operating profitable business ventures.
We are in the process of looking for seed funding to design the online platform and for operationalization of the project. We need a mentor to take us through the do’s and don’ts as we seek funds for this much needed project in Kenya which will also enable the country achieve sustainable development goals of poverty eradication and assuring quality work among Kenyan healthcare workers.
