Problem

Planetlanet.co.ke is a “Marketplace” that connects buyers and sellers who otherwise have trouble finding each other. With the current situation caused by the COVID19 virus, governments all over the world are firmly advising their citizens to stay home and only leave for
essentials. In light of this, suppliers are facing a tough time in their businesses as customers are not able to reach them as before. Consumers are also having to avoid going to their favorite stores due to the risk of contracting and spreading the virus. Planetlanet.co.ke converts these complementary desires into transactions. It’s a “marketplace” in that we “create a market” in which sellers connect with buyers because PlanetLanet provides a sufficient quantity of both.
Planetlanet.co.ke is an e-commerce start-up company positioning itself to become the market leader in offering online merchants and consumers a uniform and trouble-free way to transact online.

Request

The ultimate benefit of the program is that it enhances the overall image of the online merchant. Consumers demand not only convenience but also peace of mind. The proposed program offers both, and it will increase the number of online shoppers, thus causing a market expansion for online merchants. The first retailers who implement the proposed program will also be able to differentiate themselves and capture larger market shares in their respective segments. Once embraced by the majority of retailers, the program will become an industry standard. Due to lack of current competition, Planetlanet.co.ke has the first-mover advantage and is well positioned to establish itself as the leader in the newly created service category. Planetlanet.co.ke therefore has an enormous upside potential and is poised for rapid growth by securing agreements with companies. We have estimated total start-up costs of Kshs 13,150,000. The numbers in the start-up and the start-up funding tables reflect this.
