Having completed my university degree from Nairobi University in 1998, I undertook accounting studies under KASNEB mostly through self learning until I completed the courses.
For more than 16 years I have worked under a blue chip company handling day to day operations including budgeting, processes design, performance review and oversight.
Managing a team of 13 staff members directly and an additional departments 70 staff members indirectly as the support administration section, has given me great insights on human inter relations, motivation skills and ensuring target achievement.
On a personal level, I have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and have started several ventures on the side including a Faloma diaries, a Tire and repairs shop and import and sale of vehicles.
I am a self driven individual who believe in the power of possibilities and that my dreams will become a reality of running a successful company
Rahisi Construction Supplies Ltd
Very simple, to succeed in my venture. I believe that although I have academic and professional qualifications, have studied and self taught on many topics relating to entrepreneurship, the key lies in having mentors who have gone through the experience to guide and apply in real life.
The second key element that VC4Africa offers is an opportunity to find seed capital for my company. Most of my other ventures struggled under expensive funds from banks, creating an early drain of funds before they could mature.
The third key contribution I see in VC4Africa is early venture support through incubation and networking with the key stakeholders. This is a venture with great potential for escalation to different regions and diverse areas in the construction industry. The right contacts and support are critical for growth to be realized and would greatly shorten the development period of the venture.
I realize that marketing and exposure of the company is critical and VC4Africa has can help.
