In 2015, I launched Markit Opportunity, a for-profit social enterprise to connect farmers and urban wholesale traders through SMS in East Africa. By 2020, we hope to connect hundreds of thousands of users who trade through our platform.
Our team won the 2015 Barclays Africa Supply Chain Challenge and have been recognized for our novel platform.
I have earned an MBA from IE Business School and a degree in Business Economics from Brown University. My background includes work in both the public and private sectors with experience in 4 continents. After a few years in San Francisco, helping to grow the engineering team at Yelp.com before we IPO'd, I decided to pursue entrepreneurship with the goal of improving the lives of the world's poorest.
Based in Nairobi, Kenya and San Francisco, CA.
