Are you a mission-driven entrepreneur building a business that’s changing lives in Africa?

The Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH) Prize Competition, now in its 6th edition, is looking for visionary founders from across the continent who are creating bold solutions to local and global challenges. This pan-African competition, an initiative of the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Philanthropy, awards $1.5 million in grant funding annually to ten outstanding African entrepreneurs. ABH is a platform for visibility, community, and long-term support.
Whether you’re in agriculture, education, fintech, healthcare, sustainability, or manufacturing, if you’re solving real problems and delivering impact, this competition is for you.
Who should apply?
ABH is looking for entrepreneurs who:
  • Arefounders or co-founders of their business
  • AreAfrican citizens, or direct descendants (child/grandchild) of African citizens
  • Operate a business that islegally registered, headquartered, and active in Africa
  • Haveat least 3 years of revenue and traction
  • Aremission-driven with a clear vision for scaling impact

All sectors are welcome, from deep tech to creative industries. ABH celebrates diversity in African entrepreneurship.

Finalists and applicants receive access to:

  • A share of $1.5 million in grant funding, with the top 10 finalists receiving prizes ranging from $100,000 to $300,000
