What is BetaRaise?

BetaRaise is designed to help first-time founders go from launching a beta product to their first pre-seed investment round in the fastest possible time! BetaRaise uses a no-frills approach with a laser focus on supporting first-time founders with no experience in raising money.

The structure of the service is designed to help founders build a solid team, tighten up their beta rollout plan, acquire users and use strong beta numbers to close a pre-seed round of $100K+.

The second cohort is focused on ventures in:

  • Green Energy & E-Mobility
  • Gig Economy
  • Fintech

*In the end, the uniqueness of the product, the founders’ commitment, and the capacity to excite investors will still be the key to closing a round. We will introduce you to our strong network of over 100 active investors in Africa, strongly vouch for you, and do our best to help get you to signed cheques

We have a team of senior developers on retainer to help with all your product engineering needs ahead of product launch. If your tech team can’t crack a problem, they will step in.

Tap into BetaRaise commercial partnerships and relationships across key sectors to close B2B deals.

Our team of sales professionals with extensive experience will help you navigate selling to key clients and negotiating deals for user acquisition

Eligibility Criteria

Sector: The second cohort is focused on providing services to ventures in:
– Urban Food Systems
– Mass-Market Distribution
– Green Energy & E-Mobility
– Gig Economy
– Fintech

Stage: Ideally a product ready for either a private or public beta launch. In some cases, we are happy to work with founders without a working product but must demonstrate a path to a working product with minimal work. There is some flexibility here. In the end, the founder’s profile, the strength of the idea, and the market opportunity will count.

Country of Operation: Ghana.

Revenue: No revenue expectations. Just a sound revenue model with strong assumptions.

Team: Diversity within founding team members is encouraged.

Applications open on Tuesday, October 4th, 2022.

Applications close on Tuesday, October 18th, 2022.

You will receive official acceptance by Tuesday October 25th, 2022. The BetaRaise program officially kicks off on Monday, 31st October, 2022.

BetaRaise support is over a 3-month period (October – January) with an option to extend.

The BetaRaise program will feature a boot camp session, which focuses on equipping startups with skills relating to fundraising, negotiating valuations, and undertaking investor intros. There’ll be work-in sessions run concurrently between startups and their Venture Partners.

The BetaRaise team will hold two information sessions on the following dates: Tuesday, October 11th, 2022, and Friday, October 14th, 2022.
