The 12th global ICT4D Conference brings together public, private and civil society organizations from across the humanitarian and international development community. Participants share how they are using innovations in information and communications technology to increase impact in addressing humanitarian and development challenges.

This highly interactive and hands-on conference attracts a diverse audience of technical advisors, field-based program managers, executives, and others who offer a range of practical insights on applying technology to development challenges.

Nigeria is one of the largest markets in Africa for emerging technologies. With its numerous tech and innovation hubs, one of the highest penetrations of mobile phones and internet access, and diverse and young workforce within the 200 million population, it offers unparalleled opportunities for employing digital innovations at scale. Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, is not only the home of the Nigerian government, embassies, international and multi-lateral organizations, but also a growing hub for start-ups and entrepreneurs.

Abuja can be said to be relatively safe given a robust 24/7 government-led surveillance system. Just like other metropolitan towns, it also has its share of opportunistic social crimes, but these have not been a major security issue.

All sessions and networking activities of the 12th ICT4D Conference take place under one roof at the Sheraton Abuja Hotel, where attendees can also book their accommodation to avoid additional travels.
