Last month VC4Africa profiled some inspiring success stories we documented over 2014, and in January 2015 VC4Africa listed entrepreneurs already secured over USD 1.3 million more in funding! Tugende in Uganda secures USD 780K
VC4Africa listed Tugende, a for-profit social enterprise based in Uganda, gained USD 780,000 in additional growth funding and working capital in an investment round closed in January. Also see VC4Africa’s earlier profile of Tugende one year ago.
Ubongo in Tanzania secured USD 75K
Tanzania’s DEMO Africa alumni company and VC4Africa member Ubongo was selected to receive USD 75K in seed investments after the Edupreneurs Southern Africa incubator program 2014, facilitated by the Pearson Affordable Learning Fund & Village Capital.
South Africa’s SDK Africa secured USD 100K
VC4Africa listed augmented & virtual reality startup SDK Africa raises USD 100K as they were selected to join the US based Rothenberg Ventures first accelerator class. See their VC4Africa venture profile for more.
