Last week VC4Africa founder Ben White was one of the speakers at the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Moscow, Russia, joining the debate about global entrepreneurial development.
Around 4000 entrepreneurs, investors, ecosystem innovators and others from 140 countries attended this “premier inter-disciplinary gathering of startup champions from around the world”. Check out the pictures, video’s will follow!
Global Entrepreneurship Congress Jonathan Ortmans introduced VC4Africa as an inspiring example of what a venture capital community can achieve. VC4Africa founder Ben White was asked to chair the session “Democratizing Startup Investing”, about innovative ways to increase startup capital and how communities can expand pools of investors. This session included Indiegogo Head International Liz Wald, SliceBiz and Hub Accra co-founder William Senyo, Intesa SanpaoloBankLivio Scalvini Innovation Head, and School for Startups founder Doug Richard (from left to right in the picture below – Photos: ITAR-TASS / Mikhail Metzel).
At the end of the Congress, VC4Africa was asked to share something done in Global Entrepreneurship Week 2013, and invited others to contribute: last year VC4Africa organized a global series of meetups in over 25 cities across Africa and the rest of the world, for a global conversation on African entrepreneurship. This year we hope to make this series even bigger and invite you to join this effort!
VC4Africa hopes to continue the discussions about global entrepreneurial development and aims to actively work on strengthening Africa’s startup ecosystem together! If you have something to add to this story please share it in the comments, and feel free to reach out.
