Women, Innovation and Enterprise take centre stage at Africa Gathering 2013 #AG2013

Celebrating five years of sharing positive ideas, Africa Gatheringis back! Today and tomorrow, Friday June 21 and Saturday June 22, this year’s theme is ‘Hands-on technology: Rise of the makers, the dynamic and the disruptive thinkers in Africa’. VC4Africa is one of the event’s partners. Africa Gathering is hosted at BBC Broadcasting House in London, UK. Online you can follow the livestream!

Africa Gathering is the conference for innovators, investors, and those with a passion for our continent to learn from Africa and Africans. Co-founder and conference curator Mariéme Jamme, Senegalese social entrepreneur named as one of Forbes’ ‘20 youngest power women in Africa 2012‘ and one of the Guardian’s ‘African women to watch in 2013’, expands: “Africa Gathering will demonstrate how African innovators – especially women – are taking the lead in developing amazing local technological solutions”. She adds:  “We also aim to demystify the relationship between investors and African entrepreneurs.”

VC4Africa’s advisory board member Rebecca Enonchong, Founder and CEO of AppsTech, and also known as @africatechie on Twitter, is representing the VC4Africa community at Africa Gathering 2013.
