Mission
The Bank will aim to promote economic integration and the balanced economic and social development of the Central American region, which includes the founding countries and the non-founding regional countries, taking care of and aligning with the interests of all partners.
Vision
Being the benchmark in sustainable development and economic integration in the region, and effectively impacting society’s well-being.
History
The BCIE emerged as the financial arm of Central America’s integration and development, being a Sui Generis organism both because of the extent of the fields in which it has competence or can develop its operations, as well as its object and founding principles. From that date, until then, the BCIE has had the direction of visionary people who with their leadership have realized the purposes for which the BCIE was created.
